Chandigarh, Dec 11–The Haryana Government would celebrate Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao Divas on January 22, 2017 and, as part of the celebrations, foundation stones of 22 girls colleges would be laid to promote girl education in the state.
Jind would be connected with Krishna Circuit being developed in Kurukshetra, whose old geographical boundary spreads over 48 kos. A circular road would be constructed in Jind city at a cost of Rs 110 crore. The road would start from village Ikkas and extend up to Narwana road in west side of Jhanj. Besides, development projects worth crores of rupees would be carried out at Uklana in Hisar district and Jind.
The Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, made these announcements while addressing public meetings at Uklana and Jind, today.
While speaking at Uklana, the Chief Minister said that development works worth Rs 67 crore had been carried out in the Assembly constituency. He announced development works worth Rs 165 crore for the area.
While speaking at Jind, he announced Rs 20 crore for the construction of a new bus-stand, Rs 25 crore for four- laning of the road from Batakh Chowk to village Niranjan, Rs 10 crore for sewerage, and Rs 10 crore for development of villages of the Assembly area. He also announced Rs 4 crore for completion of the pending construction work of the civil hospital, Rs 1 crore for development of Arjun Stadium, about Rs 27 crore for Dariawala-Kauthkalan road, Rs 6 crore for drinking water facility in villages Dariawala, Jajwan, Kheri, Julani, Barsaula, Jhanjkalan, Jhanj Khurd and Barodi, Rs 2 crore for repair of road from Mandi to Khanda, and s 1.5 crore for installation of CCTV cameras in the city.
Besides, he announced upgrading of the police lines post to police station to strengthen the law and order in the city. Also, he announced Rs 7 crore for expansion of the PWD Rest House and assured to resolve other problems of the city and villages. He sanctioned Rs 10 crore for facilities in the recently regularised colonies and Rs 5 crore for renovation of the herbal park and the road connecting Gypsum factory with Jind-Narwana road.
The Chief Minister said that by December 25, 2016, he would complete his visits to all the 90 Assembly constituencies. No former chief minister visited all Assembly segment in two years. They did show up but only during the elections. The BJP Government has worked to strengthen brotherhood with the slogan of ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi EK’ and carried out all-round development in the state.
While speaking at Jind, the Union Minister of Steel, Mr Birender Singh, said that the revolutionary decision of demonetisation taken by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, would benefit the poor. This decision has increased the possibility of reduction in interest rates on bank loans.
Member of Parliament, Mr Ramesh Kaushik, said while the previous governments had neglected Jind in terms of development, the present state government has been carrying out unprecedented development in the area. In this direction, the Jind Railway Station would be given A-Class status and it would be developed at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
BJP State President, Mr. Subhash Barala, and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar, also addressed the Uklana and Jind public meetings.
